    If it is true then it does show they are prepared to support Andy.

    He is a quality striker who played well against us last season. If that is the sort of player we are targetting then fair play, it will show to the doubters that we are ambitious.

    but its only when we have signed such a player that it shows anything of the sort.</p>

    We had ambitions to sign numerous quality players this season that have come to nowt.</p>

    I have ambitions towards buying a mansion in Henley on Thames but unfortunately my offer of two tins of brokken biscuits was rejected in favour of a better offer. My missus rightly doubts my ability to deliver on my stated ambition.</p>

    It shows ambition. What would the point be in over paying for someone if we dont think they are worth it.

    People can have ambition, they may not necessarily fulfil those ambitions. They still try and meet them if the can.

    I have to agree with Spartacus on this one. We could enquire about anyone, it's like when I sometimes look at a car (nice bright shiney thing), the salesman does a good job then the question 'how much ?' my interest then cools.
