Did he also benefit from the fact

that he was backed up by so many defensive players behind him too? Meant he could be more creative?

    Fully with you on that.

Not been his biggest fan but the passes that lead to the goals is exactly what we have been crying out for. Balls into good areas. With Leon in that sort of form I imagine even Nardi would be in the mood!

Probably so. Howard has looked at his best when he has had a proper defensive midfielder in there, ie Johnson / Toggers and even Anderson.

maybe we won't miss Howard next season.
    I think it's obvious that he is Howie's re[placement.
With Howard not playing he has played in his proper position and has been able to shine. We have all seen the flashesof brilliance that Leon can provide. With Howard not in the side hae has been able to express himself andhas done it brilliantly
    Proud as hell tonight!

Leon's problem is his prefered position is central mid & if Howard is fit he gets the shirt!

Personally don't think they can play together in the middle as they are to similar....

I think formation today suited JCR & Leon, but the problem is if Howard & Devaney are fit you would have to play them and revert back to a 4-4-2.

    Maybe...

Howard for home games to take advantage of home pressing and Leon for away games to catch teams on the break with killer distribution?

It'll never come off will it.

    Exactly.
    Leon is Howie's replacement.
If Leon is allowed to play in his preferred position as tonight - the results speak for themselves don't they?
