    i think it's clear to see that strikers are no longer our priority. unless we're planning on assembling a strikeforce that can score 5 or 6 goals every game

    We keep talking about players moving out mind, could Scotland move on? I know he signed a new deal in the summer but who knows? Mansford on rob statons audioboo says their still in the market for players but some would have to make way.

    Sell Golbourne to Wolves for seven figures, move on Dagnall/Scotland and use the cash to try and bring in Sharp even if it's a season long loan. COG/Sharp with back up from Pederson and more cameo bits of game time from Rose/Cofie.

    We could have Messi and Rooney up front but if we keep conceding these counter attack goals and can't retain possession in the midfield then we'd still be in the same boat.

    Our midfield is full of effort but that doesn't mean anything if you haven't got the quality. I really like Etuhu, Mellis is good in patches (when played in the right position) and I'm sure Digby will get better and better (not sure if he is a worthy starter at the moment though), Paddy will hopefully add something to us but other than that we do lack the quality to dominate the midfield and that should be the area Flicker needs to have a long hard think about and look at the players on merit at this moment in time, not what they might have done during a brief period last season.

    I'm not sure how the defence could be improved within the realms of what we can afford and I'm comfortable with Wiseman, Cranie and Nyatanga, who man for man are of a similar quality to 90% of the defenders in the Championship.

    On paper we have probably the best set of midfield players in the division some fold do talk rot,just cos we ain't clicked yet have patience.

    On paper and on the pitch out midfield is bottom 8. Look at Wigan's midfield or QPR or Reading quality depth skill.
