It doesn't matter, when it counted we went and took their boozers and laughed at the 'soul crew'.
All academic now, job's been done.

May have run the Soul Crew out of Weatherspoons in Newport.......but still came second to the beligerant, geriatric Newport hoolie in there Swapped a few stories with one Tyke who recalled night matches at Newport County and away to Barrow! He had his arm broken by Heddleu when last at Ninian Park, but still made the trip last night.
I was there at the weekend reminded me of Barnsley 20 years ago - stuck in a time warp and the bus station has to be the worst in the civilised world
RE: I went to newport once Aye, it's ....ummm, a funny place!! It's a threatening sort of place, full of pykies and hoodies, coked up and angry. And that's just the city centre! Funny thing is, when pals of mine from Cardiff come to Newport for what ever reason, they are shocked and glad to get back. On the other hand, Cardiff, from a football perspective at least, has a reputation.....but is a cracking city, where the locals are real friendly. Honest!
we've had our fair share It's like the one we had in the 70's and 80's when I was a kid with the barriers that used to snake round
RE: I went to newport once I'd agree. Been to Cardiff a few times for social occasions (not football as I like to enjoy myself in my spare time) and been spot on. Newport just scared me.
RE: I went to newport once Went to Newport in 1990 to visit the girlfriend of the time and attend an interview........in Merthyr. 1. Newport is really, depressingly horrible... 2. Until you visit Merthyr. The train to Merthyr felt like to train to the end of the world. I was early so went to a pub for some dinner and it was like a wild west saloon - it felt like the music and chatter stopped and everyone looked round - I legged it!. We split up at the end of the visit, and I didn't get the job, for which I will be eternally grateful!
nothing wrong with merthyr 2 coach loads of us stopped at the castle hotel after play-offs went art drinkin round merthyr at nite no trouble.
