I know, don’t think we are good/ strong enough but have to give it a go and as always we have to get behind them.
We can no longer beat anyone at home and our away form is absolutely dreadful now also. Bolton literally got a bye to the final being matched against us.
I’ve been a supporter of Barnsley since as a 15 year old in 1965 I went to a Barnsley match with a group of friends. I’ve supported them ever since , and even managed to encourage one of my sons to support them as well even though we now live well away from Oakwell. I’ve been a season ticket holder for the past35 years and it has never crossed my mind not to renew . I’ve been though lots of ups and downs , but my support has never wavered….. until this year! I have renewed for next year , but I pray that we will abandon this dreary, soporific, approach next year.! I went today expecting an all out attacking game( when to all intent we needed to win the game), instead it was more of the same that we’ve seen over the past month( if not season). I left the game , feeling not elated, as I should have done ( having made the playoffs)… but completely deflated.
I don’t think it’s that they aren’t good enough I think it’s that they don’t complement each other. Most of our players are talented enough but there’s not enough height & pace & there’s not enough flexibility in the squad. When you sack the manager & the replacement basically picks the previous managers first 11 minus Pines there’s some uncomfortable questions to ask. It’s so frustrating that there’s no plan b. No wingers, no number 10’s. Really poor from the people running the club.
