Here's my view from Canada - for all you posters that piss and moan regardless of results/signings etc. We need a squad that can secure us 4th from bottom this season. You CANNOT suggest that a squad with Constantine in and Richards out isn't stronger than before. I can't belive that all of a sudden folks get sentimental about Richards - he tries hard but he a striker, and they have 1 job and one job only - score - and he doesn't. I can guarantee if we were going to sign Ronaldinho there'd be a post titled 'What has he ever done in the Championship!'
Funny isnt it, nardiello doesnt score that often either. Why doesnt he get half the stick that Richards did?
because... Nardiello has more ability than Richards, simple as. Richards never has been and never will be a good player above League 1 level. Whilst Nardiello frustrates the hell out of everyone because you know he is capable of turning a game for us (and he DOES get stick for that), Richards cannot. I appreciate the effort Marc put in for us, and will remember him as part of the team that got us promoted. However, I refer you to the following 3 (crucial) matches that tell you that they shouldn't be compared: 1. Walsall away. Penalty won and scored. 2. Huddersfield away. Winning goal, Richards very rarely got in those positions 3. Equaliser v Swansea. nuff said
RE: because... exactly - how can you seen both Richards & Nards play and not see the difference in class between the 2?
thats not the point i was making, ive seen our best finisher at the club only score twice this season and one who in some peoples opinion (rubbish) Richards score more and work harder.
Same Nardiello who missed two one on ones v the Fowls and constantly ignored team amtes in a better position? Him?
dont forget the one on one against burnley too. If hes our best finisher at the club god help us. Also i never understand why he takes free kicks from 30 yards out on the wing. Surely he would be better in the box being our best finisher and all that
dont forget when richards hit form mid season and bagged about 6 in 10 games or so, ok a few pens but got us some crucial points on the board especially when you look at our form from feb onwards
2 one on ones? remember him missing one that he made himself by taking on 3 players, and another one that was a cross that hit a wednesday defender and sneaked past the post. The most infuriating thing about Nardiello is that he has got the ability, its just getting the consistancy levels right. I really think he's suffeing with his confidence, the winning goal today and a new strike partner against Luton could make all the difference
RE: 2 one on ones? the one in fornt of the ponty with Hayes unmarked 8 yards out and one in frotn of the north stand. Also recall several oppouruntites where collueges were better placed and he decided against passing
