Great idea. "Rimmo Remembers" Many years ago I was on The Reds' books as a schoolboy - when John McSeveney was Manager. Back then Norman was an inspiration. A thoroughly TOP BLOKE. Remember him cutting my big toe nail off after an injury and boy did it hurt but he was as sensitive as a little kitten with a bedside manner to beat any Doctor I've seen ever since. Not heard the interview but gonna listen now. Would love to explore the poss of doing his memoirs if anyone interested in following up with me.
wouldn't be any help myself steveo but i'm sure ther'd be someone on the board to assist you. would be fantastic if you could get it off the ground.the sooner the better in my opinion. go for it mate you'd be doing all barnsley fans and genuine sports enthusiasts a great srvice.
used to see eric winstanley quite a bit and always used to ask him if he'd ever do a book about the promotion and premier league years...kind of a "view from the inside" story...but said he'd never been asked...love the rimmo idea tho !! would be a quality read
I asked for that months ago when our club were asking for new merchandise ideas. The reply was that Rimmo is a private person who doesn't like fuss so it would be hard to pin him down to agree to it. It's disapointing but it's his choice. An autobiography on his life would sell really well and would make Norman some much deserved reddies for his bank account or to treat his family with. Much better now than someone writing one once he's passed away when Norman can't reap the benefits and we can't get the copy signed by the man himself. Be good as well to see who Rimmo would want to write the foreword for his book. Probably Mick McCarthy as I remember him saying they talk weekly.
yeah it would be a crying shame if he didn't do it but we have to respect his wishes.be brilliant if he did tho
Does he read this board? If so Norman, please consider doing this, it would be a fantastic read and I for one would definitely buy it.
