John Jo Shelvy, 17 has just signed a 2.5 year deal with Charlton, how much is his basic wage? He's highly rated as a potential upper premiership player and middlesboro amongst others have enquired about him. I'll reveal the answer tomorrow. I think some eyebrows will get raised.
That All? Surely as one of their star players at championship level, he's on more than little over a grand a week.
WTF has this got to do with Barnsley FC yer sounding more like dreary everyday.. Ps Dreamboy my ****, the schoolgirl who said that he was must be on drugs or summat, have you seen the pic.. (pint)
Disgrace.... Barnsley are one of the few clubs left with a wage structure. We should be proud at the way the club is being managed finanically. No doubt Charlton will do a Leeds and go into Administration when their relagation has been confirmed so that they take the 10pt deduction this season (or has the rules changed after the White sh!te tried to ull a fast 1??)
They know that in the summer someone will buy this player and for a half decent fee hence the high value contract. It is a big risk on charltons part though. The point I was trying to make was to show how well run Barnsley was as club with regards to wage structure and finance and that compared to othr clubs a structure is in place rather than constant upping the ante and gambling on a player making it and having a good sell on value. Like I've said before, this club was close to folding twice inside the last ten years. Cryne maybe a multi millionaire but he is also a businessman who has made his money from scratch. He shouldn't have to invest his own personal fortune every season into the club, it should be self servicing. That is Crynes aim. So far so good. This constant sign player X is crazy - Doncaster looked at Vassel earlier in the season and got quoted a loan fee of £1m and 20k a week. Should this club go down that route? No.
He's a class player though Remember his debut last season - thought he ran their midfield. Couldn't believe he was just 16 at the time! From what I saw he's already good enough to be a regular in Charlton's first team, is £4k a risk then? Obviously they had to make him a good offer or risk the tribunal route, but still he is a class, class act. Completely agree about your point re our wages structure though.
RE: Disgrace.... Luke Steele was reported to be on £5,000 per week thats £260,000 per year and played 7 games upto present this season, if Muller continues to keep his place, then Steele will have cost way over 30 grand a game. Value for money?
