I'm not trying to upset the pro Ritchie camp but it's clear that some of this board are with me in thinking that he is poor. I know that we are 6th but can we sustain it or better it until the end of the season?.

Don't you think that he has been lucky in some games that we have won and been terrible because i can think of a dozen games like that!!!

So what do you all think??

Oh no he isn't. Out of 40 or so games this season how many have been good performances, worth the admission price, and if he and the team are that good how come the gates are declining?

Were in the 3rd division not renowned for good football and we've got a good chance of getting out of this league,**** me some people only use this board when we've lost where were all the moners after the forest game not on here thats a fact

Looks as if I'm in a minority , but

Yes he is . He has done very well , given the financial constraints placed against him , in putting together the squad he has . He's also brought out a higher level of performance from the likes of Nick Colgan . Do I think he's made mistakes ? Certainly . However , so did the likes of Clarke , Hunter , Wilson and Bassett , the only managers in my time of following Barnsley ( since 1968 ) who have had any success at Oakwell .
There's still a third of the season to go and , even after yesterday's performance , I still believe we will go up.

I'm sure it was just after the Forrest game that i moaned about the lack of activity in the transfer window. One good performance did not change anything apart from Richies mind about strengthening the midfield - a decision which is going to haunt us! He would rather shuffle the pack and play people out of position than upset the team spirit! What team spirit was evident yesterday? The thing that developes team spirit best is good performances and results a couple more like yesterday and it will all have gone!

Clarke and more especially Hunter proved you can get out of the third division playing football, football, in my opinion the like of which hasn't been seen at Oakwell since including Danny Wilson's time.

    I agree

Just goes to show that the argument you can only get out of this division by playing alehouse football is a load of /poo !

    RE: I agree

But for too big a pecentage of the season we are playing ale house football and because too many of the kids on here know no different they accept it and then try to camouflague things by accusing Donny of being an alehouse team, something they definitely ain't.

I am far from convinced about his analytical ability, his tactical awareness and his indecisiveness.</p>

Pretentious claptrap.Sounds like you've been reading a book.
I don't think Ritchie would lose any sleep about your opinion.

Yep - the players worship the guy

the camp is a happy one.

Excellent man manager and right not to rock the boat bringing in no better than we have. If they were better, in his opinion, he'd have brought em in if he could. Lets face it no secret was made of the desire for Windass to sign and the reason why.

Excellent man management Andy and Rick. Keep it up and we'll go up
