Ive not posted for a while as Im sick to death about reading how we are going down, how the strike force is not good enough and how we will get hammered every week. Well, lets look at the positives: Keeper : Colgan was exceptional last year, and has really worked on his game. He commands his area much better, and hes a proven shop stopper, which works in every division. Selling Flinders for £1m (based on a number of things) was a good piece of business. He looked shakey last year, and there is no gaurantee he will become the player his potential suggests. Defence: In Hassell, Reid and Kay we have pace, positional sense and the will to win games for BFC. They were excellent last year, proved by the amount of clean sheets they kept. Had we not gone up Im sure they would be playing in this division for someone else. Midfield: Probably one of the only clubs to have two out and out wingers in the division. With Togwell or Healy in the side it will allow Howard to shine going forward, something he couldnt do with McPhail in the side. He will be a different player this year. Strikers: All unproven, but with Hayes and Nardiello we have pace, and with Richards and Wright we have power. With the added space in this division Im sure they will prove a big hit. Backup: Only a keeper is required for the backup. We have defenders, midfielders and strikers all competeting for positions, and they are pretty good backups. Sorry its a bit long winded, but its not all doom and gloom, we have a good squad all wanting to prove themselves. Give them a chance it'll all turn out good.
Kind of agree... everyone knows were looking for a keeper...not sure what everyones issue is there. 2 on trial...pick one and sign them up.
Ritchie has stated he wants to add a striker. Not too sure why they have to be in place come Cardiff. The season is spread over 46 games, can't quite see why the end of August and then getting someone in on loan is an issue.
Ritchie then keeps his word (giving the existing the chance to prove themselves) and then getting a striker in on loan when the prem clubs have decided who they wanna release.
I also think the current squad will hold there own in this league...with the addition of an additional striker, who knows what could happen.

This side will not score goals in the Championship. We need to strengthen and I believe we will. There, that's positive.
At least three problems with that post 1/. Colgan is good but we have no backup
2/. You just named 3 defenders that you think are good. Hopefully we will play three at the back then and not suffer a single injury or suspension all season. ie we are very thin on the ground in defence since releasing TWO centre backs and not replacing them.
3/. The strikers are not good enough, weren't good enough in league one and showed yet again that they werent good enough last week against middlesbrough.
Hopefully we will sign a new experienced striker as just one will do the trick in that department, it is obvious that ritchie is desperate to sign a new goalkeeper so i'm sure that will come too but i'm not sure if we'll strengthen at the back. Hopefully we will get someone in on loan after the season starts.
