I thought they were great. We weren't very good (to say the least) - I'm not sure whether it was us being bad or them playing really well. Either way, we were well beaten. Oddly enough, I'm not that bothered about it. It's a learning experience, and that first half display was great. Had we only either kept them off for ten minutes after half time or scored that third goal in the first half we'd have bossed it.
Well said. I also think that dropping Scotland deeper and letting him make his runs in the space between our defence and midfield pulled our central defence pairing all over the place.
Scotland won everything. Bullied his way through. No complaints though, he made a huge difference with his second half performance.
Re: lets also not forget they've the worst defence in the league and we were 2 goals I feel that if Drinkwater had not been injured then the defence would not have been so porous in my opinion. perks and butterfield are too dinky against the likes of Bowyer and Scotland when he dropped deeper. Also the no 15 was a nasty piece of work. As for their defence, we could have been four up at half time, but could've doesn't win matches.
Re: lets also not forget they've the worst defence in the league and we were 2 goals Game of two halves. Nothing more.
iopswich got at him in the second half and i agree that Jim was not helping out as much as usual. but he must get fed up of having to bail him out week in week out
Re: lets also not forget they've the worst defence in the league and we were 2 goals You're trying your best tonight but it seems you're being ignored.
I don't think they did I think we made them look good. Fair play for the first goal, cracking finish, but far too often we gave the ball away after that, let them score 2 goals from free headers, and then looked completely dis-interested when actually in possession. Awful team display in the 2nd half for us, so much so, I think Athersley Rec would have put 5 past us. Had we come back out in the 2nd half, and just got the ball under control, then we would have easily seen out a 2-0 win. The frirst goal knocked the stuffing out of us, and then we panicked.
Re: I don't think they did Paul jewel game plan :rough them up in first half ,opposing team will stand off in second half ,allow team space to play football go up a gear! think O'Brien picked up a injury from the heavy tackles sustained in first half, was not in the game same as first 45 minutes.
