that these are professional footballers that are paid thousands of pounds a week and they can't do the basics. Yes, Schopp picks the players, chooses the formation and the tactics, but the players are an absolute shower of shi te currently. Schopp has to go but the players have to shoulder a lot of the responsibility of where we are right now.
Players were fine under different management which played to their strengths. As my nan used to say if you ask a goat to be a pig you’re not getting bacon.
Yeah, Schopp has got them playing in a way that suits no one, but simple 5 yard passes, hitting the target from 10 yards and marking are all stuff that they should be able to do in their sleep. This is under 10s level stuff.
I just think he’s totally destroyed their confidence. They are shot. I agree they aren’t playing to anything like the required level but we know they can and we can’t accuse them of not trying. They are trying too hard if anything.
If people looked back at last year we never strung a pass together, it was all gung ho 2nd ball up and at them stuff, so how did we expect we was suddenly going to become Man City and pass teams off park
A good coach improves players. Schopp has reduced these players to shells of themselves. I cannot see a single redeeming feature about him.
A new manager needs to give a few a kick up the arse imo helik, styles, brittain and woodrow tonight hang your heads.
That's genetics, we're talking football. The players all know how to shoot, pass, dribble they're not netballers!
I do believe this coach has taken the "ummmph" out of each individual. With the exception of collins they are collectively a 4 or 5 out of 10 at best. Last season, individually the same players were a 7. I cant see, even if we had a full compliment of players how or where we would be any better.
It doesn’t matter how much they’re paid. You can be paid all the money in the world but if you’re lacking confidence, not fit enough or not used to playing with the players around you you’ll make more mistakes than you would normally.
