Just having a chat with two friends on Facebook who support Derby and Southend respectively about players who played for us and them. Turns out Liam Dickinson played for all three sides, and was as good as sacked at both Derby and Southend for serious misconduct off the field. Apparently at Derby he got pissed up and trashed another player's house at a house party, and there was a similar incident involving two youth players and Dickinson at Southend, in which Dickinson was deemed to be the ringleader and instigator. Sounds like an absolute tool of the highest order, not to mention an absolutely woeful footballer. Unbelievably, Derby paid £750k for him from Stockport!
Didn't the Derby incident involve him getting his **** out in front of the chairman's wife? Sent from my X5pro using Tapatalk
Certainly one of the incidents involved him doing an elephant impression. Maybe more than one. Sounds like an absolute prize wnaker.
His drinking, smoking and going out was rediculous for a professional football. The problem is he dragged others down with him. He used to be out every Wednesday night in town and Kieron Trippier was always alongside him. When I was at uni I used to see Dickinson, Trippier, Butterfield, Jamil Adam and a few other tag alongs out every Tuesday without fail. All drinking and smoking. I also know from a mate they all used to go out in Leeds every Thursday aswell. So that was at least 3 days out of the 7 he and a few others used to go out. Who knows what they got up to on a Saturday without training the next day! Luckily the likes of Trippier and Butterfield got out of that but I rekon Dickinson will have played apart in some of our academy lads around that time not making it.
Very true mate. There's a difference between a party animal (whether it's right or wrong in football) and an out and out ******** as well.
He was great on Footy Manager Edit: Actually this is stated on his wiki! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamil_Adam
