I don't know if he was a target for us, and whether he himself would have wanted to join us permanently, in Lg One.
And would we as fans have welcomed him back, because he had an awful final third of the season here.

 

Still better than anything we have at the moment, another position we are currently weaker in.

 

Not seen enough of Smith yet for me to say that confidently, probably watched him live 3 times max and then highlights, and he looks very good in spells. Though if Roberts was the Roberts pre-injury then I definitely agree with you mate. Clarke mentioned wanting a new goalkeeper too iirc so I trust his judgement for sure and I hope we back him with a more experienced keeper if that's what hes looking for

To be fair I think it's a fair assessment if he means pre-injury. No keeper in league one would be as good as him before that happened mate. If he means afterwards, I think that's a little premature.

 

How many times you see our new keeper to decide Roberts is better?

 

He's a young kid, played a handful of games. Not currently at the level Roberts was.

Am I saying he is $hit? No.

Mcatee better than Jalo...... Is that me saying Jalo is $hit? No just not at that level yet. I could go on.

Without wanting to dig through all your previous posts, you do tend to write mostly negative stuff about the club. In my opinion some of it is entirely justified, but a lot of it isn't. Worrying that because of his age and experience, Smith may not be as good as Roberts was during the first half of the season would seem completely reasonable. Categorically stating that Smith must be a downgrade without having seen him play properly - much less so.

 

A fair assessment, but I am very rarely over critical towards the players.

 

In fairness the club have said they want an extra keeper and see Smith as one for the future so he should be not as good as Roberts.
Noticed other day Smith isn’t in the first team on the website, wonder if that’s just another oversight or where they actually see him.

 

Did you go to Accrington and watch our Real Malorca game? I don't know how you can say he's not as good as Roberts if you've not watched him play. There is hundreds of examples of Football players who are better than players who are older and played more.

 

Killip played the full game at Accrington - played well too.

It’s just the relentless negativity. To the point where people have to convince themselves someone they’ve never seen play is a downgrade because it’s another stick to beat the club with.

Admittedly you’re not the worst offender but it’s draining. Almost every thread I read on here gets hijacked by the same people saying the same thing, over and over. It’s sucking the life out of the place.

 

It's not that what is sucking the life out of the place but anyway it was an opinion, no verbal abuse saying he is $hite or anything, I merely think Roberts was better and we are weaker in that position.

If you want a positive place and constant praise go somewhere else.
