Barnsley goalkeeper Lukas Lidakevicius has been called up to the Lithuania U21 team for the 2013 Commonwealth of Independent States Cup in St Petersburg this month. The tournament runs from 18th January to 27th January and Lukas will fly out to meet up with the team for training on Sunday. Lithuania are in Group C and will play group stage games against the Ukraine, Moldova and Turkmenistan. The thing is though, since they switched the season round here to run through the winter like the rest of Europe, you do get some matches played in pretty ridiculous conditions. -15 here at the moment which is harsh enough to walk around in if you're not very well wrapped up! I remember when Rubin played some Spanish or Greek team in the Champions' League a couple of seasons back when it was -10 and there was a blizzard. Strangely enough, Rubin won 4-0 without even having to "break sweat".....!
