We've just got to know a close family friend has died of cancer, a couple of days after being diagnosed. At the moment, I simply don't care if someone thinks the likes of Perkins, Done, McNulty or Wiseman are poor players or not. It really seems trivial and insignificant at the moment. Sorry for being such a miserable, old fart. Rest In Peace, Michael.
It's heartbreaking mate, and certainly puts things into perspective. Sincere condolence to you, his friends and his family.
Really sorry to hear that Kev, that's awful news, its times like these that makes you realise how unimportant football really is.
Just so you know Kev, I've liked the message about perspective rather than whats happened to your pal. I hope that he didnt suffer and my heart goes out to the family in a really tough time when I am sure there are so many unanswered questions. RIP Micheal
As someone who has had his fair share of bad times - losing family and friends at a young age -I can empathise how you are feeling right now. At some point it does gets better (I'm sure you already know that) but you do, hopefully, learn to appreciate the good times, and all that you have, all the more.
It also makes you realise that you should appreciate and enjoy life rather than being negative about everything. You just never know what sort of terrible bad luck is around the corner. RIP.
What a horrible thing to happen.. Cancer is so cruel.. Kevin, my condolences are with yourself and your family.. RIP
Thank you everyone For your kind comments and condolences. Don't worry, Terry, I knew exactly where you were coming from, old mate. I wondered whether I should be posting non football news like this on the BBS, as some will always object. But what's done is done. Sorry for being so lugubrious, but it's just the way I am at the moment.
Really sorry to hear that Kev - As you say there are times when life is **** and for you and all who knew Michael well this is definitely one of those times Hope he didnt suffer too much
Ever so sorry to hear this mate, you and yours have my sincerest condolences. I actually lost my mum this way about two years ago now, never has that hackneyed phrase 'putting things into perspective' been more of an understatement.
Just noticed Greekman disliked this post, I hope he pressed that by mistake, if not he should explain why he disliked this post by kev.
Maybe he disliked the fact that Kev's mate has passed away? (and the others "liked" the post in a Facebook like kinda way...)
Re: Thank you everyone If I knew what lugubrious meant I'd agree. Condolences to all concerned, horrible situation.
Terrible things like this really put things like football into perspective. Sorry for your loss Kev. RIP Michael.
