to be honest - I'm not sure either ! :)

I could explain what I appear to have seen, but may make a fool of myself by completely misinterpreting it.

Top show - best drama on the Beeb for a long time imo.

For all those not wanting to know look away now.

I was a bit confused I must admit.

I think that he was in a coma... and that to return to the 70's he had to place himself back there.

He must have been in a coma - looking back he can't have been 1970's all along, otherwise how would he have been able to refer to events that hadn't taken place, like the Birmingham Six.

Well I couldn't see another reason why he would do that...

And he did realise when he cut himself that he did not feel the pain.

You're not supposed to apply logic and think of things like that! :)

A bit like wondering why no-one in Eastenders owns a washing machine. Ian Beale can buy houses and businesses seemingly at will, but, like all the others, takes his washing in a bag for a service wash. Piss Poor.

It was a classic interpretation of a Jung/Freud scenario

And that line made as much sense as the ending to the series.

He was in a coma. but when he came back he found he prefered the unreality of the seventies as he felt nothing in the present day......... bit like supporting BFC.
