I've visited quite a number of commonwealth cemeteries in france over the last 10 or so years and its unbelievable to see the shear amount of headstones, for anybody that is considering doing so they are well worth a visit. We've visited them in the past on the coast at bologne and etaples to name two,but this year we were touring around the somme and the western front areas, the cemerteries are all over the place, you go thru a small village, usually in the middle of nowhere and suddenly you see a sign giving directions to the graves, its very moving and also very sobering.RIP to them all,on all sides for that matter, they were all somebodys kids, dads, brothers and uncles.
Mans greed and a desire for power and control are the 2 main reasons in this case - and even more shocking we did it all again 25 years later - and to a smaller scale keep on doing it all over the world
