They’ve just sold a young striker to Norwich for £1.2 million having amassed a whole 15 goals in 97 games. Football is just mad isn’t it? If we’re not asking £15 million for DKD to deter buyers then we’re not playing the transfer market properly. The Imps also sold Erahon for £750,000 so that’s £2 million for two Third Division players.
For a bit of context Lincoln run (last accounts to 2024) a £3m operating loss. Without player sales, just like us, they are screwed financially.
It's an interesting one. Before Birmingham started throwing stupid money about, the highest transfer fee was £3.5 for Will Grigg. £15m would put him alongside Jay Stansfield, so people might argue that's the new benchmark.
I said some weeks ago when the speculation started that I rated DKD alongside Stansfield so why not price him the same?
You’re obviously not counting Saturdays goal in his value though? Plymouth gave him that, same as Phillips 2 yard tap in
Have to say that Makama looked a real handful at Oakwell last season. Think he came on in the second half and ran us ragged. Strength and pace in abundance. Said at time that I wished he played for us. Mind you, it was against our dodgy defence so maybe I’m over egging his talent!
He was brought on along with Hackett-Fairchild, and they both ran us ragged. Personally, I thought Hackett-Fairchild looked even better.
Think some of that was spent on upgrading the stand we were in last year TBF. They tend to have money put in every year though, more often than not much less than a million a year according to local press.
The new stand is reflected as an increase in tangible assets so would not have impacted on operating profit.
Has that actually happened? Saw the plans but went for a walk round there the other week to have a look and couldn't see any signs of work having been carried out.
Work was completed that I’m speaking of. Big grey building on end behind goal, where the Foundation is based.
There's huge differences between Stansfield and Keillor-Dunn though, as much as I love him. If we get an offer near £5m he'll be off.
I thought that the plan was to build back and extend the Stacey West, increasing its capacity considerably?
