Re: Lindley's Forum Notes re Concourse Catering Well since I'm not a member I won't be reading it....
Re: Lindley's Forum Notes re Concourse Catering It does. Bit Disapointed as I was looking forward to seeing what went off.
Re: Lindley's Forum Notes re Concourse Catering He's referring to the fact that the link Gally gave takes you to a page asking for your username and password.
Bitter in a can which they or I put in a thin plastic cup and charge me 3,4, 5 times more than the original cost. Cant wait. The local butchers thing wont meat Lindleys Health and Safety (lip service). Charity thing is just volunteers getting what would be paid in wages. Lager drinkers and Lindleys on the whole are the ones to come out of this on top, no wonder they gave you a meeting. IMO.
That's very downbeat for you, totally out of character. Sunny day 'n' all. The pressure of the Huddersfield match is telling.
Outsourcing gets my feckin goat or I`ve turned in Supertyke. One or tother anyway. The match will sort itself out just want it out of the way so we know what we are buying into next season.
The bitter thing is an issue, they're rather not supply it as even pouring it from a can takes time and slows service. Putting a draught pump in there is not practicable so it's the ony option. Your right in that they will have to ensure the pie meets their safety standards, but that's nothing less than we'd all expect. They have offered to do it so all good however. The charity thing is valid and IMHO a great opportunity. In the US, Centreplate, who have merged with Lindley's, do this through necessity. They can't hire people for such short hour contracts so rely on 80% charity volunteers and 20% centreplate staff. It's just an idea over here and not necessarily feasible, but something to discuss. If a local good cause could commit their time, they would get a percentage of the revenue (rather that gross profit) meaning that they can earn quite a bit for their cause. Crucially, the more they sell, the more they make, which would incentivise them to make a good job of it.
They have a hand pump in East Stand - i was surprised at that. I'm not advocating that as the time not only for despensing but changing barrels etc. I'd just like to see Acorn bottled beers available - obviously these would have to be decanted.
What % would Lindley's offer? Feels like a way to get shut of their own staff and dress it up as giving to charity.
They can't keep the lager cold in't east Stand. Get basics reight afore we start with Artisan beers and pastries eh ?
We have suggested this- perhaps one for a trial. Issue is that it takes quite a while to decant from a glass bottle to a plaggy cup and once a bar goes into Ponty you'd expect good demand for it. Couple this with the limited space available - I understand their concerns
It takes a while? Give me the job, I'll show em how it's done! No longer than from a can. I'll pay £2.50 - £3 for a bottle of Acorn at Oakwell, I won't pay that for a can of John Smith's
When you have lots to pour all at once, and baying cretins shouting & swearing cos they haven't got their pint quick enough...
