I'd go -----------------Davies------------------ Connelly--Roberts--Mawson--Williams Isgrove--Brownhill--Hourihane--Hammill ------------Watkins--Fletcher------------- Townsend Nyatanga Smith Scowen Chapman Winnall Tuton For me Marley is a definite up front and I dont see how we could drop the in form Fletcher. Despite winning both games (Bradford & Swindon) Fletcher struggled at the side of Winnall when starting however partnered with Watkins he's looked more like the player we've seen from the bench. In midfield I'd bring Hammill straight back in to replace Chapman. Chapman would be very unlucky to be dropped however Lloyd Isgrove is so important to our pressing game as well as supporting the young fullback. Lloyd was poor first half on Saturday and didnt show his usual energy, as a result the team suffered. The first 25 minutes of the 2nd half Isgrove was back to his usual self and set the tempo with his pressing game. Chapman would also offer us more from the bench than Isgrove would as he carries a greater goal threat. I'd use him as an early substitute if needed.
I wouldn't drop chapman, he can change the game in the blink of an eye. Would be very harsh to drop anyone really, isgrove like you say has incredible work rate but hammill has incredible quality. It's a nice headache for hecky to have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd lose Isgrove rather than Chapman other than that the man decision will be Wnnall or Fletcher. If Sam is fit you might want to go for experience against a good Southend team but a close call either way.
Thats why I would rather use him off the bench than Isgrove. Chapman running at tired legs is more appealing than Isgrove as Isgrove doesnt seem to have a finish in him. Big decision for Hecky.
Without knowing full extent of Winnall's ankle injury, I'd give him another full week off at least. Bring him back fit & hungry for the Easter weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very good point, if it was away then I'd sway for dropping chapman but at home with us more likely to take the game to them id go with chapman, it's great that we can have these different opinions though and shows how strong our side is with players returning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm really glad I don't have to make those decisions. I'll definitely back Paul Heckingbottom with his selections, as he's done pretty well with them and his substitutions so far.
Only error he's made so far was bringing Scowen in for Brownhill against Bury. Scowy was off it that day let himself down a little.
Yeah, you're right, I agree. I'll put it down to Josh still being ring rusty, for want of a better phrase.
Winnall for Fletcher, Hammill for either of the two loanee wingers. I can't not pick our top scorer and talisman. And not picking Hammill is beyond mental.
Marley Watkins still has to avoid a booking on Sat to save 2 match suspension. May give him a rest rather than gamble.
Would you really drop fletcher? He was brilliant on Saturday. Scored his best goal so far and played a part in all 3 goals. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
