I’m not sure what Davies has to do to get dropped

He’s been poor for some time

I' like to see mallen and victor given a go in the league both performed well in the 23s give them a go. I don' know if they will make the step up but we will never know if they aren' given a chance.

By my reckoning we've lost 4 and drawn 1 playing 4-4-2 this season, garnering 1 of a possible 15 points available (6%). We've secured 36% of the points available (15/42) playing 4-5-1 and 66% (4/6) from the small sample of two games where we've played 4-3-3.

But we have Calamity Townsend as replacement !!
I know he has been out on loan , to a non-league team, he cant even get a bloody loan move to a league side ! I have dreaded every second he has been in goal for the Reds !!One of the poorest keepers to have been on our books in many years, makes Ghent look decent !

A goalkeeper that can compete with Davies is a must this January

How are you distinguishing between us operating as a 4-5-1 and 4-3-3? Is this based on how it’s set up on the pre-match graphic produced by the club?

The latter, MR. I've also counted Reading away as 4-4-2, although the club say it was 4-4-1-1. They also tend to call 4-5-1 as 4-1-4-1. Just to confuse thigs further, we've sometimes altered to 4-4-2 during games - usually with outcomes worsening (e.g. QPR home).

Can't see line up changing much.

Hopefully Hedges will get a chance & Isgrove will get 20 mins at the end.
I think Hecky knows his best players, they have just lost confidence.
Up to now he's not had a run as bad as this to turn around. Learning curve time.

I could be wrong but I think that their non-league status was the crucial factor in that the window had closed for football league clubs meaning that he either went on loan to a non-league club for first XI football or he didn’t go out on loan at all.

Correct. There’s no loan window for the football league anymore, we can loan only in the normal summer and January windows for full seasons or half seasons only.

Apparently having the ability to take a player for a month, benefitting the loaning club by getting games for their player and benefitting the gaining club by having the player, wasn’t fair.

Aye ok. Was hurting nobody, every club could do it when needed.

The result being the national league (why not leave it as the conference? Everyone knows it as that) have a better pool to choose from as they can take players.

Townsend has been awful in the games he’s played for us but he hasn’t played for the 100+ consecutive games played by Davo and by all accounts looks to have improved based on his u23 appearances.

Davo is a better keeper, but his confidence is shot and is woefully out of form. Townsend is the best we have to replace him, it’s got to be nearly time for that to happen.
