Interesting story. Just to give a bit of background on where he comes from, he lives on Hesters Way. As I lived for many years in Gloucester I know Cheltenham very well and Hesters Way is a sink estate, where all the low life are sent to live if they have nowhere else to go. That's not to say that everybody on the estate behaves like this but it is not a very nice place to live and most of the local crime emanates from there.

His rate of alcohol consumption on the day of the assault was phenomenal. Obvious questions - how do people in his situation (he's an "unemployed labourer") find the money to pay for all that and how does he get into a football ground in such a state? In fact, where does he find the money to follow his beloved Leeds United from such a distance? Baffling.

Time to build a deep moat behind every goal I think or, maybe simpler, just ban a club from taking away fans to a ground if this kind of incident happens again. Difficult one that though - Barnsley would suffer badly without the six thousand plus £32 tickets that they will sell when Leeds come to town. Frightening to think what can happen though, isn't it, because clearly stewarding and even heavy policing cannot prevent morons getting on the pitch whenever they feel like it.

    And his expensive designer clothing.

Either he deals or works cash in hand.

Let's be right your talking best part of 100 notes for a day out from there to watch Leeds.

Like all the other exiles on here I know how much it costs to follow the Reds from a great distance. How characters like this manage I don't know unless, as you say, he is a dealer. Fine art maybe? Or perhaps he helps out in a nice town centre tea shop and gets Saturdays off ;)

    Not really.

If you are living on your savings you don't blow £50 on a cap and another 60 on a t shirt or three times that on a coat...

So you think that this kind of low life character might be capable of saving shed loads of money just so that he can indulge himself on his weekly trips up north, or wherever the hordes are heading on any given Saturday. Can't see it, really, can you??

and thats the mistake your making

a labourer in the building trade could be on as much has 10-12 quid an hour and probably no less than 9 quid an hour

i agree hes low life scum but my point was the fact that op is judging someone from where they live and there job title.and just because it says unemployed
doesnt mean he cannot afford the clothes hes bought.

You can't I agree however in this case I think it would be fairly accurate to put forward a synopsis of his financial situation.

You can judge someone on assault, tresspassing, being intoxicated in public, public disorder, breaching a banning order, breaching another banning order etc.

No he couldn't earn anything near that. As a skilled worker on the building sites I was earning £9 per hour. The labourers were earning £7 odd

    you are correct you can

my brother in law is a huge leeds fan and even he cant understand how after having banning orders this lad still managed to get a ticket as in his words
we have the best system to stop idiots getting into the ground ie there strikers club card.

so surely leeds united as a club could and should be also held responsible.
i read in another thread how is going to cost huddersfield an extra 25000 pound in policing there game against leeds.

surely we as a club should be able to pass the extra onto leeds united as say a tax because they cant control there fans.
and every club should do this.
    if its possible.

each club know how much there normal matchday stewarding policing costs are so the extra should be past to the visiting club who have problem fans

Leeds have an absolutely terrible system in place. They have electronic turnstyles where one steward keeps an eye on four which can get quite busy. Send someone else to buy your ticket and you can just waltz in undetected.
