    Since the Liverpool match: -

    1) You can't go in a local pub, restaurant or in fact anywhere without hearing a conversation about Barnsley FC/football/FA cup/Chelsea etc. Everybody and their cleaners are talking about it.

    2) Media coverage. Mostly positive. Nuff said.

    3) Tickets. Blind panic. Mates who used to say "Barnsley are ****" without ever having seen them are now clamouring for tickets.

    4) New users on here. Anybody else noticed we seemed to have gained a few recently?

This is exactly what we need - we have a big local derby coming up, then the Chelsea match. If we don't balls this up we will gain loads of new fans I am convinced of that. Come on you reds let's exploit the new enthusiasm with at least a point this aft and 6 points from QPR and the dee dars. That's get the the crowds back.

    Well said.

Interesting to see what the crowd is at QPR though. 9,500 at a push.

good points however i think us as fans are to blame s much as anyone.

Why do i say this? the atmosphere down at oakwell is one of the worst i have ever witnessed we sing at most 4 songs and then it waffles onto some random crap .

We need to make it a noisey intimidating place again and do our part and sing , get behind the team if theres only 9500 in against QPR make it sound like theres 14000 in!

    It's a two way thing

If the team murder the opposition (like against Wolves, for example) the crowd will respond. If they play boring football (even if they win) the atmosphere will be flat.

I believe we now have a team capable of exiciting the crowd. However, they cannot play at the top of their game in every game, and they will not win every game.

We can say all we like on here but at the end of the day the crowds will come back if the standard of football, results, league position etc etc improve. We have proved that time and time again over the years when we have had periods of success.

    That was my point

more or less. We have a great chance to keep the momentum going but yes we need at least a point today and 6 points next week. Should be just about safe then and we can play a bit more relaxed after that.
