So apparently trouble inside the ground was caused by ticketless fans who turned up hoping for the best. And there we have why football isn't as safe as it could be had the Hillsborough inquest been honest and not scared of offending. Ticketless fans, even in small numbers pose a safety risk. Simple as that
Just to clarify I'm not in any way saying that Liverpool fans are any worse than fans of other clubs. We all have a pathetic minority that cause trouble
Trouble inside caused by ticketless fans? Sure your not mixing two separate stories together. There was also trouble between Man City and Sevilla fans when they played each other last year. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...h-ahead-of-champions-league-tie-a6719696.html
You're not insinuating that Liverpool fans without tickets brought about a problem, are you? Go stand in the naughty corner until proven correct.
The trouble I've seen on the videos looked to be in front of the away / Liverpool end. With Sevilla fans getting passed the near invisible segregation. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...adium-prior-to-kick-off-a7036851.html#gallery
Liverpool fans bought tickets for the Sevilla end from touts. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...nside-stadium-prior-to-kick-off-a7036851.html
So the people fighting in the pictures and videos have been identified as the people who bought their tickets from touts?
Fair bloody play to that steward stood in the middle!! About 200 knob heads acting hard either side of him and he wasn't bothered at all.
The pictures and videos show trouble in front of the Liverpool end. I don't doubt there were Liverpool fans in the home end, same as there may be Barnsley fans in the Walsall end tonight. Doesn't mean they're there to cause trouble.
Having read deeper into it, Sevilla only sold 7,000 of their 9,000 tickets, so UEFA allocated a further 1,600 tickets to Liverpool. They didn't bother to segregate the area until the trouble started. Not the impression most of the mainstream UK press are giving though.
What? UEFA reallocated 1600 of the Sevilla tickets to Liverpool fans, but didn't segregate them? They just allowed 1600 Liverpool ticket holders in with the Sevilla fans? Really?
There was supposed to be a 400 seat void but I couldn't see one. http://www.irishtimes.com/sport/soc...verpool-as-sevilla-secure-hat-trick-1.2652594
That's where it goes wrong though isn't it the vast majority of us would go in that stand have a bit of banter and a laugh and enjoy it not launch into one another. No idea who caused it btw so not apportioning blame.
They would have had to get through several ticket checks - sky were speaking to fans and they passed through at least 2 check points
Have you seen some of these ticket checks... They had one last year at Parc du princes. I got frisked by a couple of soldiers and again by a bored student. Not at any point did I have to show Id etc. This was ten days or so after the Paris attacks
