Barnsley were offered and accepted the maximum allocation (15%) of available seating after segregation for the game. There was never any possibility of further tickets, although the club asked for a further allocation.

These rumours of 11K, 9K tickets available are just that rumours and they are all accompanied with the same I know a good source (ketchup usually). It is not true, and is just trying to cause trouble

I have spoken to a Liverpool season ticket holder and he says that they need tickets to give them a chance for a seat in the next round and final (misguided arrogance here). For a iverpool fan to get a ticket for this game they must have purchased tickets for previous FA cup games. They also state that they cannot guarantee tickets for their own fans on the website.

    "Barnsley were offered and accepted"

So liverpool offered 6k and we said ok ta. Would be interesting to know whether we ever REQUESTED more tickets (before the complete balls up, not after) or whether we were happy with liverpool's first offer.

if 6k was the maximum that could be offered and was offered how/why would we ask for more?

it isn't the maximum that CAN be offered

15% (or slightly less due to segregation) is the minimum a club has to offer the away team. There is nothing to stop barnsley from asking their opponents for more tickets but also nothing to stop this request being turned down.

that bright red said we had 2 days to make our request for tickets and that we didnt do so. You replied to that be saying that liverpool announced they were giving the upper tier to their fans more than 2 days after the draw was made which only seems to support bright red's statement which i'm sure wasn't your intention.

I'm still interested to know whether we made a request for more than 6,000 tickets at the time of the draw or whether we waited till last tuesday to do so when everyone knew it would be impossible.

No. Ticket allocation wasn't agreed until the thursday(31st) when the club asked for maximum number of tickets. There was a question as to when the game was being payed until that day - you may remember Liverpool appealed to the FA to have the game moved to the friday.

FA cup rules: The away club must contact the home club and request tickets within TWO days of the draw being made.

Owen said that liverpool OFFERED 6k tickets and we accepted the offer, all I am asking is did we ask them if we could have more or did we just accept their offer?

Do you really think we are in some sort of position to negotiate? Surely you can see they aren't going to sell us more tickets at the expense of their own fans who are desperate for the credits for their supporters loyalty scheme so they can get tickets for later rounds as they are treating it as a for gone conclusion that they will beat us. This idea that we were offered 11K tickets etc is just someone causing mischeif.

I don't for one minute think that we were offered 11k tickets, all I want to know is whether or not we ever asked about the possibility of liverpool giving us more tickets after the draw was made. A reasonable question considering the club asked for more tickets after we sold out.

    I think it's a perfectly reasonable question

I don't think the answer will achieve anything though. Whatever that answer is.
