Serious changes ,he knows all players leaving and staying and lots of changes.... So does anyone on here have an idea as to who will stay go and what budget do you think he'll have to spend ,can we realistically retain Cranie...
Do we realistically WANT to retain Cranie? Is he better than others at the club in his position? Is he better than others out there? Cranie has been part of a losing mentality at the club for years, in fact he's been captain of said side. Even LJ said that the team has no leadership which for me makes his position in the side untenable. I'm really disappointed that holgate hasn't been given more of a chance at centre back with Williams at the side of him. So called meaningless games have been the perfect opportunity to see what two young lads can do in their right position and instead cranie has been played, holgate has again been played out of position (what will we have learnt today from that that wasn't already known?) And Williams twiddles his thumbs.
Lots of changes is what we don't need. Another pre season of the squad mostly being changed and it gives LJ the chance to use excuses like playing getting used to eachother etc.
exactly this - another clear out, another "bedding in" period.....another poor start.....another sacking....and on and on and on it goes....
Or we sign new players, win our first game 3-0 and get promoted after being taken over by a Russian trillionaire?
I know what your saying but to be honest I'd like him part of the team next season.Hes very experienced ,solid can move the ball forward and is definitely one of the better members of the team at the moment.
He sounded very sure about his plans for the summer. I think we can hazard a guess that those who haven't been involved in the last two games (bar players missing through injury) will probably be on their way. Hence, it seems unlikely that we'll see M'voto, Hemmings, Ramage next year. Jennings and Bailey may well be on their way also, despite that fact that they're under contract. It seems like Johnson is excited about the budget he'll have to spend, and he seems confident of getting players in whom he believes to be of the required quality. Whether we do have a sizeable budget and PC is planning to inject some cash, or whether that's just LJ's glee at having more to spend than he did at Oldham (which was nowt), we just don't know yet. I reckon Cranie and Nyatanga will be offered new terms, probably reduced from their current deals, and I'd expect Lewin to stay and Cranie to seek a better contract elsewhere. Then I think Johnson will look for experience and leadership in many areas of the park given what he's said, as well as attackers with pace who can get defenders turning. Another exciting summer, but if players like Winnall, Hourihane and Scowen are going to be here next year, then we've already got a solid base to add to.
I'm not really why Johnson was expecting a much better performance today. He's already done the stupid thing & admitted in an interview that he's already decided who's getting offered a contract & who isn't so where's the motivation to impress him when he's already made his mind up & it's a dead rubber. Probably a sign of inexperience, he should've said he's only been here a short while & will be leaving it until the last moment to decide
I hope we don't keep Cranie. He's been more like a Ford Cortina than the Rolls Royce which Hill called him. been part of a team that has lost more than its win for years now, even before he joined us. We need some mobile defenders who can defend and arnt afraid to get stuck in
Amazing how we criticise the club for sacking managers too soon and not giving them a long enough run, whilst at the same time were showing little patience in our performances, manager, experiments, etc
Never said it was. So is 10 games, including 3 losses (actually in 15)your measure and level of patience? I'm more inspired than I was at the start of the season
What are you inspired by exactly? Genuine question. Seems to be nothing positive to take into next season at the moment.
I'm inspired by:- - the opportunity to build a competetive squad before the start of the season, something we failed to do last year - the vision and clear direction of the manager ( I have been on record many times last few years of not knowing our plan) - the recognition that this squad is nowhere near good enough to compete for promotion - that we haven't had the fight against relegation like start of the season and previous years To name a few What about the patience question to you. Likewise, I'm genuinely interested, any comments?
