First half, Colchester presented no danger, and we were quite comfortably on top, although with few shots on or off target. Deserved the lead, and I expected us to come out 2-0 or even 3-0 winners.

In the second half, we allowed Colchester to get back into the game, and of course they pulled one back with an unchallenged header at the far post I think it was. For their 3rd goal, Holgate was taken apart in the right back area, allowing their player to cross it for the killer goal.

Prior to that Sam Winnall had scored after rounding the keeper but it was ruled offside.

Disappointed that we didn't really go for a second goal early in the second half, as Colchester had been so unimpressive in the first half, but they were allowed to gain in confidence as we failed to impose ourselves sufficiently.

3-1 flattered them; we should have been out of sight if we'd gone at them with more conviction.
