Just been watching the 2 Walsall games and the Millwall final and to be honest I'd forgotten how good he was both attacking and defending. I know he's been the subject of quite a few posts but what's the view of others in signing him to replace or augment Kent and Winnall? I would definitely be happy to see him back.

His face when he scored at Wembley. I thought the top half of his head was going to fall off. I'd have him back just to see that celebration again.

Good player, would love to see him back, amazed another club in the Champ or L1 hasn't been in for him on loan.

Totally agree. What surprises me is how he is not even getting on the bench for the Saints. I would expect someone from the Championship to snap him up in the January window. It would be good to see him sign for us.

I imagine there were a few teams in for him, ourselves included, but Southampton blocked any move for reasons only known to themselves.

Why risk ruining our team of young hungry players that want to play for the team, just to fit in someone who appears to not want to play man football?

Seems a strange quote when you consider the impact he had here last year. I don't think he'd walk into the starting XI but he'd be worth a place in the bench and I'm sure he'd do well if he got his chance.

Not sure his commitment to the cause was ever in doubt last season.

Last season he was very good for us and should always be remembered fondly and it's great that he holds our club in such high regard. But I find it hard to believe Southampton would prefer him to play under 23 football as a backward step from where he was last season. He must be happy with his situation because it's not like he's handed in a transfer request. He should be playing regular first team football somewhere but if he left Southampton who are never going to give him a chance to prove himself, he'd have to take a paycut and would he? I would hope so no matter where he ended up. He's got to think this season has been a total waste after all he did last season. By developmental league standard he's not young anymore. Last season should have been a stepping stone for him but it hasn't turned out that way :(

So we all hate George Moncur for wanting to get first team football but Lloyd Isgrove has no desire because he wants to stay and fight for his place??? The mind of a football fan....

You make some valid points, but we're not party to what he's been told by the management at Southampton. It's possible he was told he was on the fringes prior to transfer deadline day or there could have been interest in August from a number of clubs that fell through or he could be happy playing kids football and being paid handsomely for it. His attitude whilst here (and reports from Wednesday fans concur) would suggest he wants to play football and gives his all when given the opportunity, unlike some other young premier league starlets we had here last season. I guess we may get a better sense of his long term values in January.

It's an easy decision that we should be in for him in January. He would fit straight in with no disruption to our team or how we play. If the lad himself has any sense he should be doing everything he can to come back even if he has to take a pay cut as longer term it could be the best thing for his career.

I read various stories saying Saints simply wouldn't let him out on loan.

I rate him but we don't need a winger at all. Kent, Hammill, Watkins, Williams & Janko as well as Scowen currently playing there who's been man of the match in the last two home games.

If we make decisions based on our hearts then it'd be nice to have him back for sentimental reasons but if we use our heads it's the last area in the team that needs strengthening.

I'd imagine the reason he didn't get loaned out was because a new manager wanted to assess his squad & there was a chance Isgrove figured in his plans.

If there was an emergency loan window he would've probably gone out on loan but there's no longer one so he's got to wait until January would be my reading of the situation.
