E.g. ....... ........We are league 1. .........Is Hecky up to it. It's absolute foooking rubbish AGAIN - from those supporters who just see a result - but haven't a clue when it comes to looking at the bigger picture.
The bigger picture being 6 wins since February, goals drying up and 4 home league wins in a calendar year. People aren't jumping the gun after a few weeks of tripe. We've had a year of it and Hecky next week will be on to his third transfer window since our team was ripped apart.
No - no - foooking NO !!! Let's have a brief summary of the transfer windows: January 2017. One point off the play offs - and instead of bringing in one or two to push for promotion - we had 8 or 9 players up for sale. We let go 5? Totally unsettling a winning team that IMO would have won the playoffs. Summer 2017. Basically a FULL SQUAD to find. That's 17 or 18 players to find which is an absolute disgrace for any Championship manager to find themselves in - Mr Cryne. And as a result of an inadequacy within the club (Ganaye?) those players were brought in late - with too many midfielders brought in (according to Hecky) - and a failure to bring in enough striker options. And still we have some idiots pointing a finger at Hecky. It would be laughable that if it wasn't that serious.
Couldn't agree more. The only surprise was that we actually go some points n the board early this season. I said after the sheff u game that his side is relegation fodder and i was shot down on here
The rumblings have started though, at least in the Ponty. The booing of Thiam's substitution is a worrying development - direct and unmistakable criticism of Hecky.
Disagree. This side is a very good side that should be in the top eight - except for one thing IMO - striker options. Example - we have some good wingers that are great at getting crosses in - that would really benefit from a striker that could actually hold the ball up or head a ball. But we just haven't got anyone at the club that holds that threat. That's a really poor situation to be in for a Championship club.
A striker would certainly help but we lack quality all over the pitch for me. Top 8 who knows seems ambitious when we are hurtling towards the bottom 3. But you do touch on something Important, people keep saying Bradshaw gets no service, maybe he doesn't make the right runs or have the right attributes.
I nearly pissed my pants walking from the back of the east stand down back to ponty road and the disabled riding school. Bloke behind me, (I’d say a kid but he looked about twenty), said we need to get rid of Hecky. His mate asked who to bring in - he said we should give it to Jamie Clapham. My word. Hecky deserves the benefit of the doubt. I’m not too sure many in the crowd would have taken off Thiam for Ugbo, but after 70 minutes and a goal down he had to roll the dice; and I’m not sure Mamadou has 90 minutes in him. Ugbo is terrible but what else do we have? I’m not convinced Hecky is amazing, but as I say he deserves the benefit of the doubt after getting us up but then having his side ripped apart, and not being given the squad balance that was required in the summer.
They are using Bradshaw as a target man - when he looks 5'2" when stood against central defenders. Just take note on how many times he loses the ball when it's launched up to him. Bradshaw is a fox in the box player - he just isn't a target man. And Bradshaw is another player - along with the wingers - that would greatly benefit with an old fashioned centre forward at the side of him.
I think Hecky is smart enough to understand that he has done an incredible job at the club so far. As I've said previously - I wouldn't swap him for any manager in the football league. With regard to recruitment - there needs to be a well oiled machine created between - Owners - Cheif Executive - Recruitment Team - Team Manager. Once this happens then there are exciting times ahead for Barnsley.
I think the jury is still out regarding the effectiveness of Ganaye. We've had the unhappy Hecky interview this week regarding recruitment - which follows the unhappy interview he gave in the summer with regard to recruitment - when he spoke about the club getting a move on to get players in quicker. Something's not quite right there. And if I was the owner I would be finding out what the problem is. We can find another Cheif Exec - but it would be near impossible to find a manager that suits Barnsley more than Hecky does.
As I said in another thread, whilst I am happy with Hecky as our manager, he is not infallible. If he is then what's the point in him ever wanting to better the team, the club, if he's to pick up a wage every month knowing no matter what happens he's blameless?
