    just carrying on from the thread on closed down pubs well what about the local village pubs.

    The Sun Inn Monk Bretton


    about as local for me as i can get and just the right size and has a good friendly atmosphere.

    If I'm not in Wombwell or Tarn I usually go in Ashfield Club on donny road before bridge, they have some good turn ons in there on weekend

    West Green WMC , Monk Bretton, Sam's ales at their finest. Jedi 1 would support me on this only he still cannot log on. Can someone on admin help him out?

    And of the town centre pubs.Not one with any real charcter now.Last on was Channels and even that's having a refurb.

    I noticed that this afternoon when I was walking past and that one of the barrels was on the floor near the window. Shame if they are talking those out. Always thought that pub would made a cracking real ale pub with the length of that bar!

    My "locals" when I'm back are the Miner's Rest at Old Town and for a bit of a walk, the Treddlehoyle - I hear it's back on form again after a few dodgy years. Hope so because I'll be there in a few weeks' time.

    Also like to do the Monday night quiz at the Miller's near Darton. Cracking real ale pub - well at least it was 2 years ago!
