Does anybody own a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier or personally know any breeders? To make it more football related, I did 6 keepy-ups yesterday. Is this a record?
dont know about the dog but i hold the daily record of 7 keepy ups for yesterday then, although i hold an advantage of being 15.</p>
RE: dont know about the dog It could quite easily have been 7, but I got stitch from running up and down the footy pitch chasing the ball.
btt in the vain hope someone might know.. and I'm also determined to become a member or something before the end of the day..
It depends on what you're wanting to know, best thing to do is get in touch with breed club, they'll be able to answer any questions you have and point you in the right direction with breeders etc. This site should be of some help, www.wheaten.org.uk. Kennel Club are often helpful aswell, might be worth checking their website out too.
try ringing your local vet as they should be able to point you in the right direction. You can also ask them if there are any hereditary health or behaviour complications.
There are hundreds of dogs in need of a home contact the RSPCA. I dont see the need for anyone to buy either a dog or a cat.(babyhaha) (blaze)
Don't know if this would help you or not, but one of our clients is a breeder. If you PM me (search for my profile as I'm not logged in 'cos I'm at work)with your contact details i.e phone number, I will ask her to give you a call.
Thanks, I'm already registered on the kennel club website and in contact with a few breeders via e-mail around the country. Just looking to see if I can locate any more.
RE: There are hundreds of dogs in need of a home contact the RSPCA. That's very true. But we have a limited choice of dogs we can own due to my fiancee's allergies and to be fair, rehoming and retraining a dog is far more difficult then raising one from a pup and I take my hat off to anyone that does it, but personally I feel you need far more experience of dogs.
RE: Have you thought about I'm confused now. Am I been hailed as some kind of ogre for wanting a dog. Excellent
RE: Not at all I don't actually believe that's 'all' the options: For example, you haven't suggested; dog napping or alternative pets like; buying a dancing bear, raiding an ospreys nest, stealing a penguin from the zoo or setting up traps for squirrels.
true, they are all alternative pets But I was just wondering whether or not you had considered not getting a pet. It seems you're so excited about getting one that you haven't stopped for a second and though, "oooh, I could NOT get a dog." Just thought it best that I reminded you of that option. Big step getting a dog. Not as simple as having a baby you know. Hey, maybe you should have a baby?
RE: true, they are all alternative pets Had dogs all my life Jay. I actually have a labrador which I raised from a puppy, but when I left home, I left 'Tyke' (cool dog name!) with my Dad for company. I still walk Tyke twice a day, regardless of the weather and am a very responsible dog owner. We've been thinking about getting our own dog and waiting for the right time for nearly 3 years. Now happens to be the right time. I can assure you I haven't just seen the andrex bog roll advert and thought "I'll have one of them"
Those 'six' keepy ups - are you still including the bounces as the ball disappears into the distance in the total? As I've tried to explain before, they don't count. In effect, what you're actually doing is picking the ball up and dropping it onto your foot. That's 'one'. Just. Me? I can do five, easy. Providing I can use one of those special keepy-up machines. 'Swingball' I think they call it.
I can assure you I haven't just seen the andrex bog roll advert and thought - I'll have one of the I can't see a bog roll making a good pet. It would perish very quickly in the rain. Then you'd be heartbroken, or summat. Don't get a dog. Get a log. Low maintenance, cheap & good to sit on. No need to thank me.
