An enjoyable read... http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...e-top-of-the-league-of-longest-suffering-fans
But one of the most flawed pieces of research I've ever read. AFC Wimbledon are placed at number 10 in the list of longest suffering fans. A club that will be just 12 years old next month, the youngest in the football league by, well, miles. A club that have won 5 promotions in that time taking them all the way from the Combined Counties League Premier Division to the football league in just 9 seasons. A club that remained undefeated between February 2003 and December 2004 for a total of 78 games. A club that has never been relegated. They've never suffered for a second. They're probably the most successful club that's ever been formed.
A good point, I assumed that AFC Wimbledon, were the old 'Dons' so to speak in which case they were messed about quite badly.
Apparently we are 31st and have suffered more than Doncaster and Rotherham fans. Not quite sure how that works. http://89thminute.co.uk/2014/04/14/you-think-weve-got-it-bad-who-tops-footballs-suffering-league/
Maybe because we haven't won owt for 60 years. Rotherham & Donny have finished top of the League on occasions, we've not finished top of any league since the 1950's. Don't know if winning promotion counts for as much as winning the league in their statistics.
Nar it were a cup played for by junior schools in the distant past, yet as significant winning it has the play off trophy (the winning losers trophy).
