Now then, Just thought I'd post this that I wrote about our game against Huddersfield all those years ago. http://lovelyleftfoot.com/2012/04/11/barnsley-vs-huddersfield-greatest-game/
The stars had aligned as you say For that night only. Think i'm correct in saying it was the only game in which Ashley Ward, Bruce Dyer and Craig Hignett all played for Barnsley. Had Ward not moved on, just think of what could have been, especially the next season when we reached the play-off final.
Re: The stars had aligned as you say That's right yeah. Ward was a machine that season too, sure he had about 15 goals by the time he left.
Re: The stars had aligned as you say I'm gonna guess the Chelsea game because its the only evening game I can think of where we had a pitch invasion plus the team dug outs look fairly new and the advertisement for 'FIFA Street' in on the north stand billboards.
No mate. That was 4 year later. Twas Sky that covered it. I dont know the guys name that commentated it, but my signature is how he described Barnard's goal. The expert analyser was Alan Brazil
Re: The stars had aligned as you say Yes it is the Chelsea game look at the track suit of whoever is walking off the field.
We should have broken the club record that night Club record is 9 and besides that missed penalty, Sean McClaire missed 2 absolute sitters as well as a load of other gilt-edged chances missed. I was at the game but taped it and watched it all over again when I got in. Huddersfield manager said at half-time that they were lucky it wasn't 10-0. Tim Lovejoy was enthusing about it on Soccer AM.
I thought that game was when I was living in a particular house when I had ITVDig, must be getting memories mixed up wouldn't be the first time.
I had broken my leg and ankle the night before so spent that night listening to Radio Sheff in BDGH, what a game to miss.
