Tbf Dike to rhyme with like is how I would pronounce it if I read it on an autocue.

Would love to see how they do a Look North report if it involved someone making a souffle that was the epitome of Arkansas.

Everyone makes mistakes. We are the club who once spelt Barnsley wrong in our own programme and on another occasion published a photo of benfica's ground instead of Sunderland's

While it's in mind, my late father-in-law always pronounced Higham as "Hickem". Has anyone heard that before? I was never sure if it was a local thing (he lived out near Cawthorne most of his life) or just his own thing.

It was always pronounced Hickem when I was growing up around there some 50 years ago!
Edit: Also Barugh Green was always pronounced "Bark Green"

I've always pronounced them 'Hickem' & 'Bark Green' and am not aware of either being wrong.

I've always used "Bark Green" and so does everyone I've ever met, but I'd not come across "Hickem" other than my father-in-law. Nice to hear he wasn't barking mad* after all. Thanks to yourself and @Lordtyke for your help.

    * not to be confused with barughing mad :)
