    Not like we're hanging on for someone to move in and rescue the club at the end of the year. Not like we'll get a windfall payment. Not like there is a decent chairman waiting in the wings with a serious manager ready to take over. If we stop up for next year we'll get beaten 5-1 week in week out and go down as the bottom club - because the rest will try to improve and we'll try not to get any worse (and probably fail).</p>

    Rule 1 for trying to stay in a division - get the defence right.</p>
