No it's not just a friendly, it's a match that's there to be won. Arguements about it being about trying new formations, new players, getting fitness up etc does not wash as a valid arguement because it's the same for both teams, therefore nothing really changes. There's no excuse for a championship club being unable to keep a clean sheet at two none league clubs (Sheffield FC and Buxton), draw at another by letting in a couple (Glossop) and lost comfortably at another lower league side.
