We actually weren't that far off mid table - Hume might have made that difference. Here's hoping he's back fully fit in August

    Last 5 mins

    Swansea 2

    Brum 2

    Watford 2

    Cov 2

    Wolves 2

    and that's without even trying

Points gained in last 5 mins...er..(dunno)

One thing I have noticed is that when we are in front at the end of the game weto opposition seemto batter us. When we are behind we don'tseem capable of handing out abattering

I think fans of all the other teams would have the same thoughts though

Over the course of the season we were the 20th best team and we were never higher than 14th - even for a week

Difficult to say what would happen if Hume had not been injured - maybe we wouldn't have signed Bogdanovic?

Not many other teams have lost a key player in such horrific circumstances nt

    what difference does that make?

Every team gets players injured. Does it really make any difference to our season whether hume got elbowed in the head or damaged his ligaments?

People seem to forget we were still near the bottom even with Hume.

    True

He had scored 4 goals, looked like scoring about 10-12 in season, but we will never know.

All teams have had injuries and its how the team/manager copes with the injuries that proves how good they are.

    Neither of us know

I feel he would have made a difference in the last few months of the season - that's my opinion.

Thats not what i was saying

I was saying that the fact it was an elbow rather than damaged ligaments made no difference to our season. If in that same game Hume had damaged his cruciates putting him out for the season we'd have been in the same position as we were after the elbow. ie Hume missing.

Going back to my original point ... not this one that's on a tangent

I feel his goals would have made a difference

I'd actually argue that it gave us a common cause to rally round

Something that doesnt normally happen with for example a broken leg or cruciate injury

I'd also say that we might not have signed Bogdanovic.

Dont get me wrong I was as devastated for Hume as everyone else and really hope that he comes back next season with no serious after effects, but to say that because it was an elbow makes the loss worse to the team as a whole than the losses by more normal means - eg Andersson and Muller last season.

Many teams have players out long term throughout the season - thats why you have squads - Hume was no doubt a loss but he wasnt the talismanic player that say a Glavin or Redfern was.
