As I think someone on here alluded to last night, it now looks very much like a mini-league of four. With Charlton having those four games in hand, and needing only two points to best us (and a possible new manager 'bounce' factor to come) I believe we are well and truly shafted. If there were any doubt, the prospect of playing the rest of the season without Ramage and Cranie pretty much seals things. When you add in that we don't have last season's 'great escape' spirit, and we can't string two results together, then a realistic view now has to be taken.

Having finally gotten a very good guy like Ben Mansford, let's hope he doesn't walk, as some of our Championship rivals must surely have noted his ability. He would be key to any rebuilding, in my view. And let's hope Danny is given the rebuilding job. He was given an impossible task, but his experience and his calmness and equanimity would also be priceless assets for any recovery. I rather fear that the cheap option of MM will be the choice, because he will come cheaper than Danny.

The club still represents a good 'project' for any takeover interest, but it will require a far more far-sighted owner than Mr Cryne to turn the club's league fortunes around.
