What Virgin broadband package are you on?

They're £40 for the Medium Package - But FREE for Large and Extra Large.

If you've been a customer for some time, phone them up and say your thinking of switching to Sky, cos they're offering FREE wireless routers.

Ebuyer.com is a good place to start, simply because their routers are sub-categorised into cable and ADSL (BT-line) routers. Due to issues with technical support and returns of faulty goods, I wouldn't necessarily buy from them.

Click the Show All button. Then you can pick a model to suit. TBH the trick is to get a branded (Netgear, Linksys, D-Link, Belkin) but cheap. Unless you need long-range coverage for a large building or garden, or plan to transfer large files between PC's on the network, you don't need any fancy features. For general home, web browsing use, this is fine

I've just got Netgear's ADSL version bundled with a wireless adaptor and made me wonder how I managed without one. My desktop connection never drops any more and it's faster. Gave a new lease of life to my ageing laptop as well with the wireless adaptor. The internet used to be a crawl on there but it's like lightning now in comparison. Like you say, set up was really straightforward as well.
