eyup - looking for a LCD TV for around £500. 32" with integrated freeview and HD ready. seen a few knocking about (LG and Toshiba ones in Currys) but wondered what the knowledgeable folk on here would recommend. cheers in advance
Here's a telly -</p> http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3336328/Samsung-32-LE32S86BDX-XEU-HD-Ready-Freeview-Widescreen-LCD-TV/Product.html?P36=6AWRNN</p> and here's an interesting deal if you fancy signing up to Virgin Media, you could get an LG for £199</p> http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/editorial/Virgin_Media</p>
I got one from here the other week, ordered at 6pm and was delivered for 9am the next day. www.ebuyer.com
spend the extra if you want HD then I would spend the extra and get proper HD (not just HDMI connectors), the ones that are 1080 res. This means it will show HD not just connect to a HD source. Does that make sense?
Log on to Pricerunner.co.uk, i did, and got a great bargain, bought a Toshiba 32" for £450. £130 cheaper than Currys or Comet, great telly as well.
any recommendations? i'm not a telly fanatic, i hardly watch it - the good lady is the watcher (not the BBS watcher..!!) as long as i can watch DVD's every so often owt'll do me but if real HD is the way to go then i need to look at that
Remember to check John Lewis..... They price match and offer free 5yr cover, great service. I ordered a telly on the Monday, it arrived a couple of days later and by then John Lewis had dropped the price by £100.....so they gave a £100 refund.
RE: these guys cheapest you will find anywhere Got my telly from there, good service ,ordered monday, bloke said it would be here wednesday morning, spot on time. (Y)
Cyberdine ... any good ? http://www.digitaldirect.co.uk/products_moreinfo3/index.asp?product_id=13958&FF=14
No. I think you'll find that Cyberdine take the chip from The Terminator, which eventually leads to the machines taking over. I'd leave them well alone. Wiping out most of humanity won't be good for their share price - and will leave your warranty null & void. Glad to be of assistance. Yours in televisual technology, Stevey T.
Gonna sound like a reight thicko here - (apart from the price) what is the difference between LCD TV and a Plasma TV? Which is better and why?
RE: LCD v Plasma Well one thing for sure its more common to get 3yr cover offered on Plasma and 5yr cover offered on LCD.... does that give an indication on reliability or future ?!? though as I posted before John Lewis do free 5yr on both. I looked into the options for ages and it was driving me mad ! Finally went for a 1080p HD 42" Sharp LCD.....had looked at Panasonic Plasma, Samsung etc... but it was such a good deal on the Sharp with 1080 that it won hands down.
