Having a bbq in July and thinking about how to get some music outside, been having a look online for cordless speakers, there's a few online but wondered if anyone on here had some and could recommend.
Ideally would like to be able to transmit to them from PC (so we can play MP3's) or to hi-fi so I can route that to it.

Cheers for that, I'll check them out, found a few on ebay but never know just how good they are.

When you say the batteries don't last long - just how long? i.e. ok for a couple of evenings? If so then that'll do as I can use rechargables.

You would get more sound from an I pod with plug in speakers

The speakers shown have 3.5 watts rms. Why do you need waterproof are you expecting it to rain ? Just take your hi fi outside, or poke the leads through a window.

Failing all that I have a pair of Brackenberry stereo speakers, light, robust and deliver up to 40 watts. Selling them for £80, they were £400 new.
