Looking Forward.........The Next Two Months

    NEXT TWO WEEKS
    Sheffield Wednesday will lose heavily today to the Redbirds. That will signal the end of Dave Jones. We will lose heavily at Leicester (no Andy Gray, Danny Drinkwater or RVT in the team this time). Wednesday at home on the 15th becomes Hill's last chance saloon.

    Buoyed by the appointment of a new manager (who will be popular simply for not being Jones) Wednesday bring 6-7,000 fans to Oakwell. Sky coverage reduces the home element to ST holders only. The atmosphere is like a Fowls home game. Defeat signals the end of Hill's reign.

    SCENARIO ONE
    The takeover happens. All bets are off. The level of investment and the identity of the new owners are unknown to us, so anything could happen.

    SCENARIO TWO
    The takeover doesn't happen. Resources remain limited - the situation is desperate. High profile available managers are unaffordable, or unwilling to risk their reputation with a relegation on their CV. An affordable candidate with balls, passion and an ability to roll up the sleeves is required. Step forward NEIL REDFEARN. OK, limited experience, and no success at managerial level. But BFC would present a wholly new scenario for Redders. Remember the quote from his autobiography: "They say you should never fall in love with a football club........"?

    Backed up by a young but experienced coach - a hard man at the same career stage as Danny when he came as Viv Anderson's assistant - Redders grabs the squad by the balls and wrings some relegation-avoiding grit out of them. [At this point, remember we are still not yet in the drop zone]. Big money buys are out, but using his contacts, Redders brings in some older pro's and blends them with our youngsters, as Danny did. Pulling away just a little bit from the bottom, the crowds begin to recover, and we start to think about taking it forward next season. Small steps, big progress.

    Then I woke up!

    So, Redders has a 50% Championship win average then?

    Who else can we afford who would be worthwhile? I think Redders at the Well would be a totally different scenario to the small-time clubs he's managed outright, who probably had no resources anyway. It would be situational with Neil, and I think it's time to think outside the box.

    50% but how many games has he managed?

    50 out of 100 sounds more impressive than 2 out of 4

    His championship record might be good, but his non league one was poor

    Would be a silly appointment in my opinion, and would inevitably sully a club legend's legacy

    Sometimes Rob you are a ******* knob who knows **** all about **** all. Redfearn and my old man were at Scarborough at the time and if you think it was them who ran it out of business then you have turned into an even bigger tool than ever over this last few months.

    It was an open secret that the hierachy at Scarborough wanted to run them out of business, so they could start again in a lower league without any debt. They were losing money hand over fist each week.

    Why would a manager and his assistant want to do it when they werent even being ******* paid? They still havent been paid after 5 ******* years and its not pocket money; we are talking tens of thousands.

    During their tenure players were sold on the days of matches prior to the game without them even knowing, they werent allowed to buy any players or sign anyone on frees. The club was ****** from top to bottom so to even judge them is almost impossible given the circumstances.

    The one mistake Redfearn made was taking the job in the first place. My old man went to help Redders out, it didnt matter to him as much as he was nearly 60 and his time was almost at an end.

    Anyways, get off your ******* high horse about everything and stop talking about stuff you know fculk all about. You're a mate of mine but in this instance you are wrong. Very wrong.

    Looking back two months we were all saying how good Keith Hill was after winning 3 games, drawing 2 and losing 4 playing really good football and looking forward to players coming back in. We didn't want a takeover and we didn't want Keith to leave.

    It'll all turn round. Chill art everybody.
