If I drank "15 pints of lager and several shots" I'd be dead. I'm 6'2 and 15 stone so I've plenty of body mass to water it down, and I'm not shy about having a drink or three, but that much alcohol would do me serious damage. How can a skinny sportsman who shouldn't really be drinking that often cope with that?

He sounds genuinely remorseful. He always struck me as a nice kid, no pun intended. Rimmo loves him to bits. Some sort of community gesture wouldn't go amiss.

Judging by the way he behaved, he couldn't cope with it.

In my mind, a suspended sentence would be more meaningful if it were for two years or more

The law is **** these days and too soft. It shouldn't have said he was being "sentenced" if that wasn't going to be the case.

Why ? He has been sentenced. Whether you agree with it is a different matter.

Sentenced is not the same word as imprisoned

Or if it had been announced as a custodial sentence

Drank UP to 15 pints. I bet was about 6 or 7 but he'd have asked his QC to make him look 'good'

It sounds like William Hague syndrome to me.
