Didn't realise he'd got in favour in the first place

I think they looked at what he had done for us and though "at £300k, we can afford to take a punt on this" - doesn't look like it's working out, but with the money they've made off West Ham, they can take that on the chin and laugh.

... was on a train to London with all the other supporters straight after the game (and I do mean literally straight after, we didn't stop at a pub or anything, we just went straight from the ground to the train station). He was with a few mates (not players AFAIK) and was still wearing his training tracksuit. They were carrying crates of beer.

Everyone in the carriage was slagging him off when he got off, the general consensus being that he should be travelling back with the rest of the team and should be concentrating on preparing for the play-offs.

What's all that about then?

(While retelling this story to someone in the pub at London Bridge I was told Cotterill was on their train in similar circumstances, can't confirm this because I didn't see it).
