............'Kevin Nolans transfer fee is bigger than my playing budget for the year'. See link

    http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~2548211,00.html

In other words .........dont blame me if we lose because I haven't got any money to spend on players, but we are going to give it a go anyway.

It would be nice for Keith Hill to stop moaning or mentioning his lack of buying power and for him just to get on with the job i.e. talk football instead of talking about lack of money

Is Hill trying to show a bit of kiddology here? Because Big Sam and the team will not be buying.

He's only saying what the rest of us are thinking

    What's up with that.

He's not moaning or making excuses in advance, just stating facts IMO.

Simply stating a fact and isn't at all what he's saying in the full context of the interview.

Our yearly wage bill on players is eight million pounds, so he's a tiny bit out if he thinks Nolan is on that kind of money.

He said Kevin Nolan's transfer fee is his playing budget

    He doesn't mention his salary.
Is the £8M you quote for the current financial year?

Do you always fill yourself up with angst and bitterness before posting?

Do you expect us to turn these multi million pounds teams over every week?

Do a league table and include all the following:

    - Wage Bill
    - Turnover
    - Average crowds
    - Value of the boards members
    - Total points this season.

I reckon Barnsley would be fairly high up in that table. Best value for money team in the division.

Kevin Nolan cost West Ham £3.5 million

Rising to £4million if they get promoted this season, our squad put together didn't cost that. Which is roughly what Keith Hill is stating.

I believe that's the figure Don Rowing mentioned on the WAB radio show when he was on last month. If I could be bothered to search threads to look I would as i'm sure that's the amount mentioned :D

Remembered it a bit more. It was when he was trying to justify why so many games were 30 quid.

    Just a minute

I'm not disputing the amount of money involved
And I'm not disputing that Keith Hill has done a GREAT job since he's been here

I wish people that read these posts would actually read the post instead of imagining what it says

My point is this........pure and simple..........'why should Keith Hill keep on spouting about the lack of funds at Barnsley in comparrison to other clubs'?
In my opinion he is trying to get his name noticed

    Re: Just a minute

I've read your post. I'm not imagining. In answer to your pure and simple point.............why shouldnt he?? we have got a lack of funds compared to others. Why would he want to state the bleedin obvious just to get his name noticed? Flawed logic my friend. Flawed logic.
It's truly wonderful that you have an opinion but it would be even more wonderful if you could use it more constructively.
