no he is really good, probably my most favourite out of the current team. without his goal contribution last season we might well have been staring relegation right in the face.
RE: He is quality so glad he's back Might as well play with ten men. He's a lazy ******* who couldn't care less as long as he gets his pay packet. Forest will not give him time and space to play in so he might as well not be there. A hard tackle in the first 10 mins and he'll be crawling to the touchline again dragging his bottom lip.
RE: Give It A Rest.. No, I wouldn't prefer Nicky Wroe. What I would prefer is for McPhail to grow up and realise that he isn't ever going to be a Premiership player again and get down to earning the very good money that BFC pay him. He does have talent, I don't dispute that but he doesn't have any heart and he doesn't care. I would like him to use the talent that he has for the club that pays his wages and for the "adoring fans" like you, who can't see him for the waster that he is.
RE: Give It A Rest.. Oh, what a quality retort. Just cos he doesn't like McPhail you cannot suggest that he favours another. Personally I think he is right - he would have gone in the summer but nobody wants him at the price he would demand. Yes he has ability, but he does not cut the mustard in this league.
with mcphail i agree with both sides of opinion i think he is a good player and if he put himself about a bit more would be awesome, the other, all he wants is as much money as possible and dont care jsut lazy on pitch, like someone said he will be injured in first 10 minutes tommorow id bet on it
RE: with mcphail I don't have any real complaint about him wanting as much money as possible, everybody does but it would be nice if he was prepared to earn it.
is he technically that good? 8 years in the game and he hasnt yet learnt to trap, shoot, pass or dribble a ball with his right foot. that isnt very good in my opinion. he cannot be technically 'that' good if he cant even learn to do the very basics with both feet. he cant even do the sort of stuff that any 11 year old can do if he needs to. Watch any game of football at playtime in a school and if the ball comes to the kids on the left side of them they can pass it with the left foot (same with the right). ok they cant do anymore than that but even they can do the basics with both. stephen mcphail somehow cant, or if he can then he hasnt done so once in over a year. I find this a bit odd to say the least for someone who is supposedly so good at the game of football. He is very overrated and until he showed more commitment, more desire and that he had learnt to do the simplest of tasks with his right leg he wouldnt set foot on the oakwell pitch again.
has he? i dont recall his freekicks hitting the back of the net or even troubling the keeper very often. how many shots does he have that make the keeper dive? not as many as jacob burns or antony kay thats for sure. best left foot in the barnsley team is robbie williams, his freekicks, crosses and shots put mcphail to shame.
