Big! It was a weird debut. It was a mix of not looking bothered, to being way too up for it and in danger of maiming people. At the end, our physio went over to him as he'd been laying on the floor after the whistle went. Whether that was an injury, feeling gutted, or just being knackered after a 15 minute cameo, I couldn't possibly say. I'm not going to judge him on that 15 minutes though, he's going to be nowhere near full match fitness and in a side that has fleeting confidence and fleeting discipline.
Bang average.. but so did ALI .. in his first couple of games. Way off the pace, went up for every header, never won one. Had a free header at goal from a corner after good movement but failed to connect.. jury still out. Give him more time.
Thought he looked decent enough. Held the ball up & laid it off accurately to team mates. Had a free header from a corner that was blocked by the defender. Definitely something different & some height & strength up there which is what we desperately need
tbf we should give him a chance. I remember many of us (including me) commenting on dike's non-debut against chelsea. let's not forget, our manager has managed to completely wreck a 10m midfielder in just 14 games.
Not sure why Victor keeps getting completely unwarranted stick. He has been consistently good whenever he has played this year. Also don't get the mentality of people who come on here and feel the need to constantly slag off players. Vic last night: Pass completion 8/9 - highest % on the team Successful dribbles - 1/1 Possession lost - 1 Key passes - 1
I agree. I'd start with him and Iseka in the team on Sunday. Only bright sparks were him coming on. Temporarily lifted the gloom for me whilst I was sussing him out. Other bright sparks were Iseka and Hondermarck.
Iseka is one of our biggest problems. No doubt he’s talented but he keeps giving the ball away cheaply & allows the opponents to counter us. You can get away with that if you’ve got a settled midfield & defence like we had last year but it’s tough when the players have barely played together. I doubt Oulare’s got a start in him on Sunday but when he’s fully up to speed I’d like to see a Frieser, Oulare & Woodrow front 3 given a go for a couple of games & then hopefully Morris isn’t far off returning with Iseka been a bit of a wild card off the bench.
I don't have a problem with Vic - he is a trier. Whether he is a Championship footballer consistently is up for debate, but I can't fault his effort or commitment to the cause. The poor joke was however targetting his close control ability. It could easily have been aimed at Woodrow last night, who actually controlled a couple of balls at least 70 yards. The comparison was to Obbi's cushioned header in the Boro area that I thought was going to set up a shot but almost made it back to Collins instead. But it was a joke. Or attempted. Last night I was so numb that I had to laugh. Today I am just angry.
We're going to have to be patient with Oulare, he's not played for god knows how long so will take a while for his fitness to get anywhere near where it needs to be.
Writing a player off after 15minute cameo a player whos been injured he may be ***** but give him half a chance at least
He came on won a corner teed woodrow up for woodrow to sky his shot over from 15 yards. I agree he does get alot of unwarranted stick while other contributed little to nil last night and it goes unnoticed
How about victor in the middle with the Belgium boys either side and Woodrow just behind front three. Let the big three bash the defenders and woody sneaking through for a touch down sorry a tap in.
Surely he cant be judged on a 15 minute cameo after so long out. Will need a few games to get up to speed. He cant be any worse than Victor! His tiuch again last night. WOW
Tb f I think a lot were saying give him time too, he's barely got over his jet lag and was playing against a Prem side.
