Is this finally the wake up call that football really needs? Probably not.

Excellent news. Let them go bust and start again from the very bottom. It will also make the SPL even more of a mockery with Celtic having no competition for the foreseeable future.

After hearing about their top paid players refusing a pay deal I think they deserve nothing less than being wound up. I feel sorry for the fans but Scottish football is so poor they could start again from scratch and be back winning the league within five years.

2 players have left the club just so others will get paid. They have also left without getting any money paid to them.

Given that it's the players and their agents who are rejecting offers...

No mate, some of them haven't yet agreed a deal, here you go http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17221172

Just a snippet from the story:

Rangers' administrators are continuing talks at the club's training ground in an effort to secure a wage-cut deal with players and staff.

David Whitehouse of Duff and Phelps emerged from Murray Park late on Tuesday after what he described as a "very frustrating day" of talks.

BBC Scotland believes seven or eight players have yet to agree to a deal, which has caused the delay.

How long before Celtic are so bored with post-Rangers SPL life that they start making noises about joining the English leagues? Maybe they could replace Pompey in the Championship when they go tits up.

For all you know they've agreed to take a 2% pay cut and nothing more yet you're trying to paint them as heroes. Which they definitely ain't.

Just an idea, but if rangers did go bust and had to start again. Do you think they would ever consider starting again in the English football league, you always get talk from time to time about how Rangers and Celtic would be better in the English league plus seeing what division they were able to get themselves promoted to would be interesting. Thoughts?

Bottom of the pyramid would be a good start. If its good enough for AFC Wimbledon then its good enough for our Scottish friends. Should make some serious money for the lower teams as well..

The administrators need to find a million plus a month to keep the club going until the summer. The administrators asked the players to take a cut of upto 75% to avoid any further redundancies. A majority refused.

Unless investment is found then redundancies will happen.

Before someone pipes up the biggest drain on Rangers finances is the wages paid to the players. As it stands they cannot play in Europe next season and may not complete this season.

As much as players' wages are ridiculous it was the club who offered them. I would have hoped the players might have taken a long-term view and accepted reductions if it would keep their club in business but the fact is it is those who have been running the club that have caused this mess, not the players.
