This land on Lee Lane used to get waterlogged when it rained , the documentation makes interesting reading , thats of course if you live in Royston Planning Application - 2014/1073 http://applications.barnsley.gov.uk...tion Details&PUBLIC=Y&XMLSIDE=&DAURI=PLANNING
I used to work for the family who ran/owned he driving range on the Wakey Rd-Lee Lane junction. They applied to convert their farming land at the bottom of the range into a 9 hole course and club house. It got knocked back for a few reasons, including access off the busy road, residents worried about increased noise (yes that racket of 'fffooorrreee' can be excruciating) and a couple of others I seem to think. Bet the houses get passed!
Re: so building where it floods then They built a load of houses in barlby next to Selby in the late nineties on a flood plain next to the Ouse that flooded badly in 2000...god knows what the insurance is like on them!
